PROCOMEX, Brazil

The Procomex Alliance Institute

The Procomex Alliance Institute is an NGO, based in Brazil, which is the operational arm of the Procomex Alliance. This coalition, with over 80 business associations, shares the common vision that countries can be more competitive if they have border management processes that are more expedient and more reliable. The Institute, which gained prominence by mapping the processes that led to the development of Brazil’s new foreign trade single window, has as one of its strengths the ability to bring together private sector and public sector stakeholders to work on common interests. It is presently working on the development of port communities, and with the members of these communities, mapping the processes which will lead to the efficient use of a PCS in the ports of Santos, Suape, Rio de Janeiro and Itajaí in Brazil.
